One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

+1 on the Plasti-Dip.

I have it on all my kites that I've had more than 2 years (when my last can dried out).  Also, I don't do nearly as many nose plants, and I'm flying almost always over grass, so the noses don't take the beating they used to.  I guess I'm kind of cheap to spend $10 to coat the nose of one kite, and then have to throw the rest of the can away.

Also, to apply the Dip, I used a rolled-up "stick" of newspaper which I flattened and then tore the end off of for a brush.  No real clean-up, and no spending money on other brushes (Did I mention that I was cheap?).

On most of my treated kites, you'd have to look closely to see that I've armored the nose.
If you're concerned about resale value, knowing the kites' nose was coated this way is a plus for me. But of course other potential buyers may have different thoughts.

Steady winds, y'all.
