Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Try loading Download Helper as an add on to Firefox.  Download the vid and play it.  Problem solved. Wink

Or at least, that's the way I get around the problem.
(Other download add ons are available for youtube, but DH lets you download from other video sources as well.)

I have been using Download Helper ever since I started using Firefox.  Sometimes it goes just fine. Other times it will stop, I "pause" and start again and it picks up and goes for a while and stops.  I pause, and start again, and it will go a little farther.  This may go on many times before the video is completely downloaded.  I only seem to have this problem on You Tube.  Other sites such as MySpace, auto racing sites or RC boat and aircraft video sites work without a hitch.

Something strange is going on.

YOu tube has gotten to be Junk.  THere are at least 2 reasons I can think of why the videos do that. BIggest reason is the adds themselves sending data back to the agency or Just poorly encoded into the video.  A few times I have had videos load fine until I close the add then it hangs forcing you to restart the videos and look at the add all over again.  I've had similar slowdown issues with adware and tracking cookies hogging bandwidth.  THe other reason is the "find similar videos" suggestion bar on the side.  I notice the more videos that finds the slower the buffer loading is.

YOu ever notice though how the dumbest videos on there NEVER have issues?

I dunno, the You Tube app on our Vizio Bluray player opens with You Tube recommended videos and automatically starts playing the first one. it was the dumbest most offensive video I've ever seen and it could not play more then a few seconds before buffering for 20. Some Russian or Chinese vid of an Asian girl being attacked, that's offensive enough but when she bends over in her miniskirt and a gun pops out ... (you picture it, I can't say it here)   Huh

I finally got it stopped after hitting every button on the remote and found the search function, but it returns to that same video everytime you open it.

Mike... lol

I was doing a search for an old thing a friend had done early in his 3D animation-learning stage on the off chance he'd put it on YouTube. It was a way-cool bouncing sphere. The "bouncing" keyword landed me in the "booty bouncing" section of YouTube. Oh man, if all those mothers out there only knew what their 14 year olds were putting online!!! Just amazing stuff to witness.

I'm not one to promote censorship but at least let us give videos a "remove this crap" vote.  I remember a while back one of the top video recomemdations that came up on the side bar thing was a simulated rape scene apparently ripped from someones porn collection.  YOur right though Nancy some of the stuff these kids are posting would have landed me a session with the razor strope growing up.  Just goes to show that some Parents don't care what their kids do.

There's a little flag icon under the video after the "Like", "Add To" & Share" buttons to "Flag as inappropriate". Guess Craigslist didn't think to "Patent" that idea, I assume it sends somebody a message.
