One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I bought a 3 blade boomerang (Evil Wing) on Ebay which was shipped in from China.  The ad claims that it is made of 'Clover wood'.    The wood is light in color, grained like pine but seems more like a hard balsa..  Any idea as to what kind of wood that might be?

It's probably laminated birch or poplar.

In the case of the ebay description, I think then translation leaves something to be desired.

The "clover" probably refers to the shape and not the material.

Anything listed by a chineese sell you have to interpret the descriptions.  Thats more than likely pine or maple.  What I wonder is how fast that going to break.  It looks very cheesily made  of 3 pieces glued together in the middle and then the hole cut out.   I can see that snapping on the first impact with the ground.

I am lefthanded and happened to have purchased the "Lefty" (laminant fiberglass or some other thermoplast plastic.) model many years ago from ITW. Nearly indestructable.  Still going strong.  Fun to throw, but very easy to overthrow.
