Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

After spending a Friday evening at New Silverbowl Park in winds peaking around 1 mph.....

I woke up today to see:

Temp High = 70°F
Winds = 7 mph gusting to 12
Sunny
Cirrus clouds (my favorite) http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/194/d/a/Cirrus_Clouds_1_by_HKPasseyStock.jpg
No chores

And I thought:
Oh man, I don't have any kites to shoot photos of (ends thought with preposition, sorry zippy8).
What am I going to do?

And then it hit me:
I could fly a kite.

Genius, right?  Roll Eyes

I woke up today ( well Sunday) to see:

Temp High: -4C  ( Low -16C  Huh)
Winds = nil
Freezing fog visability 60 yrds
Clouds? probably somewhere above the freezing fog - 3" of fresh snow on top of the 5" of frozen snow from last week.
And I thought " Darn, no kite flying AGAIN today!! Sad.....roll on Spring!!

Ok ok ok....so that isn't John...good for a chuckle though.

That is Joe, local rider here in Vegas riding his kitewing and dirt surfer out at Ivanpah.

John did take the picture though.
