So . . . guidelines state maximum length of 75feet, 50-60 foot length preferred for KP on the field due to space constraints.  Actually, it sounds like fun as I've been flying on medium length lines quite a bit lately.  I'm pretty sure I have a set of 75s for my revs, but I will have to make more set(s) if I want something shorter.  So here's my question - what length lines do people fly for group & mega flying at KP?  If I'm going to make a line set, I'd like to make one that will play nice with others.  I was thinking maybe a set of 40s and a set of 60s.  Any advice?

Also - what about flying outside the ropes - do people also bring 120s and go elsewhere for some group flying?

75 foot for Sat and Sunday, 120 for before and after.

not a lot of room outside the roped off area, especially if the weather is warm and all the local bikinis are on the beach

search YouTube for kiteparty and you should see where and how the megi-flies happen

The most important aspect of sharing the field is to yield to others, fly, socialize, fly some more, socialize some more

Added:  I use 60-65 foot lines for my stacks

Steve,

Let me add just a little to what Mike has stated ... if you are going to fly Revs, then come with 75 foot lines for Sat and Sun.  That way you'll be able to fly with others (team) on the weekend!!  Most Rev folks will be using 120 foot lines (for team flying) during the week.

BTW ... it's really interesting getting a dozen or so fliers on 75 foot lines ...

Cheers,
Tom

Thanks for the info.  I'll be flying Revs exclusively so I'll bring the 75s and 120s.  And maybe a shorter set if I get ambitious . . . .

Here's a link to some of the fun we had on 75' lines at Kite Party 8 two years ago.

Let me answer the "outside the rope" question. NOT ALLOWED, unless WAY down the beach, and actually away from the event. 60' set is a good idea. Thank you.

But Dave, it's too hard to play with the folks on the pier with the shorter lines!!!
