Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Super Bowl Sunday.   Temp 42 degree's.   Huh Huh Huh Huh  Never in my life time can I remember the Lake not frozen at this time of the year.  Usually you see about 200 Ice Shanties. ( guys ice fishing huts).  There are usually 200-300 guys fishing on a Sunday.  The lake is skattered with fisherman.  The Surf Kiters use snow boards with their kites and travel 15 miles across the ice and snow to a small island. Everyone is shocked in this town over No Winter.   Ski resorts have lost a ton of money.  No skiers this year.  GLOBAL WARMING DUH !!!

As you watch the video you will see the water.  Close to shore the wasn't even a ripple.  No way could the Ocius skate today... The wind picked up a bit before I crashed in the water.  I waited about a minute for it to rise.  The shoreline is mucky mud for about 10 feet.  It's why I could not land it in water.  I had no room to adjust in moving forward... The water is COLD also.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

As I pulled it in the leading edge snapped.  I almost got it out.  just happy I didn't end up in cold mucky mud and cold water.  Sometime I just don't think...  :'( :'( :'( Kiss Kiss Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I start the video from the end.  Up to that point it was a beautiful day. I had to change lines from 100ft 100# to 75ft. #50. Wind was mostly lite till the end.

Thank God !!! I live close to the kite store ( Jon can fix it in a flash )  Cheesy

That's so pretty.

I love how your kite was waving goodbye to you at the end.

Poignant.  Cry
