Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

A while back I got a nice black and yellow AB+ from skb in Canada. Recently Mike (Smeagol) bought a similar kite from Larry in Southern California.

It turns out these two kites, serial numbers 19 & 20, were originally part of a set made for Larry and his Pairs teammate. How one ended up in Canada is anyone's guess. How they both found there way to our little monthly fly in Ripon is just a happy coincidence.  Smiley

I suppose the coincidence was helped along by the fact that Mike is as into odd and old kites as I am.

Thanks to OzoneJim for his excellent impersonation of Chilese.

p.s. I sent this picture to Larry, he got a kick out of it. Nostalgia rocks.

awesome!  Did you get the pic of the synchronized launch attempt?  Wink

Yes, I guess it is a small kiting world after all.

We did compare bridles.  Turns out the inhauls were slightly different @ the center T, mine were lark's headed around the T while Allen's were attached to a pigtail w/knots.  His flew mich nicer in the same winds, so I'm probably going to add a pigtail to mine to incorporate some adjustability into it.  When I temporarily connected my inhauls directly to the T ferrule for testing purposes it made a big difference.

The vented AB+ is larked around the T also, so I imagine this is how they were stock.
