One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hello Old Friends!  I hope to shake the dust off my kites while I'm on vacation.

Anyone done some flying in Carolina Beach, NC?  I'm going to be down there next week.

I was down there not too long ago and the beach is not very wide there. There is a private area at one of the piers that might be flyable if there are not too many vehicles there from people fishing. By far your best bet is to take the quick trip up to Wrightsville beach and fly there. When you get to the end of the road in Wrightsville you can only turn left, or right. If you turn left and go to the end of the road there is public parking just before the Shell Island resort. If you walk out on the beach and turn left there is wide beach in front of the hotel, and a point below there you can walk to. If you turn right when you get into Wrightsville and go to the end of the road there is public parking, and another area to fly at when you you walk out on the beach. Shell Island is where we hold our Cape Fear Kite Festival in November. If you need any more info just drop me a line. Have Fun!

Hey Kervin! Long time! Glad to see that you haven't left kites!

Hey Bob!  I'm not flying as much as in the past, but this week has been great.

For anyone that wants to know, the beach is fine for me.  The longest lines I use are 75'.  The beach is empty this time of year, so I could flying anytime I wanted.  Low tide gave me lots of room. The condo blocked the wind from the west at high tide so the aire was pretty bumpy.
