One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

So I've been preparing to build an invictus now for a while... two actually.  For my UL I'll be building a ghost version (easy enough to decide on colors).  My debate has been in the area of the Std color scheme.  I've posted 9 options based on the colors of fabric I currently have in my inventory.  Please review the pictures here and decide on your favorite color.  I'm really just curious on people's opinions.  Any insightful words of wisdom in choosing a layout will be appreciated as well.  Last and not least, I will include a blank template.  Using the colors in any of these options, feel free to post a new layout in this thread if you have an idea that is better than these nine options.  Thanks!

I am a firm believer that red white black is the strongest standard combination.

I also prefer color wingtips to draw attention to the full size of the kite.

Although I voted for 1 because I really like the black on the LE and the white & blue main sail, I think the version of DWayne looks awesome!
I think it looks both elegant and speedy.
If I ever buy myself an Invictus I'll copy yours DWayne (since I'm in Barcelona, regretfully I think the chances of flying together and making my copy apparent is rather small...).

Cheers,

N.

Just a pity that I can not find on youtube, as you fly what you build.

thanks for posting your example sztender. And I appreciate your video.  Perhaps one of these days I will have a video of the kites I build actually in the air.

on another note... it seems to be a neck and neck race between color options #1 and #8.  I'm going to wait a few more days to see if anyone else votes.

I'm gravitating towards an answer... I think based on votes and suggestion, I'll be going with the black, red, grey and white combination.  I've worked up a final draft that includes pin striping and red wing tips as many have stated they like.

A very good choice. The kite will be great. I'm curious how it will fly. Because I have little problems whith INVI A BEE. I'm not such a good builder, this is my first "major" construction. I put on my kite cheap pipe. A kite is very difficult ;(
