One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

Lyla and just ordered our first Margaritas at Freds. There are half a dozen Revs in the air. Cloudy and 60ish. We'll be out there soon.

Have pity on me.  Allen has kindly been my shuttle for my larger 2-line kite bag.  Due to his tragic unexpected absence, I will have only Revs, a Prism E2, and Demetri's 3-D.

That being said, I would gladly go with no kites at all if I could exchange that for Allen being able to attend.  And Demetri is already wondering where he's gonna get his next 2-line lesson.

Feel better, Allen!  We'll miss you -- a LOT!

As to the rest, we'll see y'all Friday afternoon.

cheers,

David

Heavy cloud cover looking like rail all day but never did.
Sweet wind all day. We quit flying about 5:30.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

After some rain and changing wind this morning, we had a great afternoon of flying at the Kite Party.

More tomorrow.

Great day,

I arrived at the beach around 6:30am, George's truck was there already, sunny with kite wind,

George, after a quick repair, and Dave were tricking, I had a Griffin up.. more joined us and then we saw a wall of water heading our way.
Everybody stashed their kites, and started talking, in the parking lot....in the rain, but the kites were dry

a few more small showers, and one large downpour, and another small rain, the sun came out with blue sky-- and zero wind.... but 10 minutes later it started back up and everyone was airborne...

In accordance with (old school photos) I got a 2 stack of Griffins (80's / early 90's?), 3 stack Chicago Fire Bee's (90's), 5 stack of "Action Kites" Moon/Star Darts (80's), and a 5 stack of Visions (not old school)

Robert Brasington (Tasmania, AUSTRALIA) launched about 8 stacks of beautiful artwork, and had everyone taking pictures, John should have some great shots to share

Tomorrow should be great,

Thanks Dave!

Mike, I saw a 5 stack flying last night on the web cam. I figured that might be you.

Now it's 7:30am for you guys... where is everybody ? It looks beautiful there ! Can't tell if there's any wind, though.  Grin

I've been watching the webcam on and off all day. Very fun to watch. Looks like a great time and good winds. Who are the Rev flyers flying formations around mid-afternoon?
