Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

We used to have a informal group here in Everett supported by Erv Crosby of 4 winds kites.Sadly when Erv passed and Gail closed the shop the flying field we used at 10th st shut down for a parking lot overflow. We saw the usual SCIFI{Snohomish County Incredible Flying Individuals} group head to  well i dont know where everyone went.I would like to get a local club going where we could get together somewhere fly kites, talk kites, and just hang out with others that love kites as much as we do.I found a pretty good field at the school south of Lake Tye in Monroe off Freylands. So far it has pretty decent winds.Would love to meet up with other kiters to have a local fly sometime. We could have the start of our own non festival to be held yearly. If interested let me know.

You know, if this is like starting any other group, the best idea is probably to just start and see what happens.  I have held several ongoing groups (including a writing support group which, sadly, I didn't have the time to continue into this year). If someone says, "Hey, maybe...." or "Why doesn't someone..." or "Would anyone like to...." people are less likely to see it as an event that they can travel for and more like a concept.

Sometimes it can tale months for people to catch on and start coming to your event, so if you did start up, don't get too discouraged if groups are small/non-existant at first.

And even if no one showed up, you'd get some good flying time in a good field!
