Ehm, the link to 6th Sense project doesn't work.
In Kareloh's site there is only a picture of this kite.

Now it works, thank you. But I can't open the whole kite picture, the colourizer and specsheet ("files not found").

Hi,

How is this Sixth Sense doing compared to NSE and other Nirvana ?
Is it as precise / polyvalent ?
Easy to learn on it (I am learning freestyle tricks) ?

I already built a Vortex from C. Derefat but it seems a bit too radical to me. I stalls too easily and I struggle to complete tricks.

Thanks.

The sixth sense is more of a polyvalent kite. Tracks really well and tricks pretty easily. My only issue is it tends to backflip lazily but that could just be something a bit off on my frame specs when I built mine.

Hi,

Nirvana is categorized as a polyvalent kite too.
Do you mean that the sixth sense is more precise than the Nirvana already is ?

Thanks.

I think the comment was in reference to your Vortex, which is a freestyle kite.  The Sixth sense and Nirvana are both polyvalent kites.

Hi,

Did anyone try to build the UL Basic ?

UL BASIC:

Sail: Icarex, mylar, dacron.
Leadind edge: Structil 5mm
Upper spreader: Structil 5mm
Lower spreader: p100
Spine: Structil 6mm
Stand Off: 3mm carbon
Ballast on tail: 18g

Curious how it handles, as it could be quite inexpensive framing.
5mm doesn't allow trickability, does it ?

Hi, I like the STD full Nitro very much.
Maybe still the best open source kite around!

But I didn't like the UL with all 3PT at all... Too weak framing for my personal taste.
I'm guessing it will be even worse with the 5mm leading edges.

Or maybe size it down to 90%?

Hi,

OK, that seemed obvious for 5mm.
I currently use a Nirvana UL with full 3pt and it's fitting me perfectly.

Why didn't you like the SS UL, appart from the frame weakness ?
Did it feel too soft ? really too different from the STD ?

Thanks !

It seems like your a fairly new flyer so we may have a bit different idea of "precise".  To me the nirvana is more toward the freestyle end of the spectrum but that also depends on what version your flying. The 6th sense compared to my nirvana, tracks better, has better speed control, but doesn't trick quite as easy as my nirvana.  Like I said though, I may have my frame and bridle specs off just a bit and a small amount on any spec can make a big difference in how a kite performs.

Hi,

That's it, I meant better tracking and better speed control in general.
So, you answered my question  Grin
