One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I considered using one of those on my rig, but was worried about the pack bending and then failing - apparently LiPo batteries can catch fire/explode if they get damaged internally (through bending or being pierced). That's why I picked a battery in a hard metal cylinder with built-in protection circuitry - hopefully much more likely to survive my flying style without setting fire to my kite

That's true. I wonder if it's an issue at the lower capacities I might choose. Will have to look into that. During charging though there would be an issue if damaged since I was hoping they could take a quick charge. Better safe then sorry.

it would be cool if they did that type of battery in a rigid shell.
I also looked at mobile phone batteries, but all the ones I have are a bit on the heavy side

they seem light enough and get more than 35hrs of use out of them. You can get them for less than $3 a piece if you shop around.

I think they have some replacement strips without adhesive for some of their other products if you look around.

Quick and easy - tape an LED to a 3 volt lithium button battery, then a bit of gaffers tape will hold it on the leading edge - total cost for 100 of them under $20

Nice. Load up a Rev with lights and long lines; watch the UFO reports stream in, hehe.
