While we were at the drags on Saturday, I saw many high end cameras/lens combos being
carried by the orange vested media people.
One man was taking pictures of a dragster with his close-up lens setup and his
full-frame Nikon with battery grip and big lens were getting in the way, so I jokingly
offered to hold it for him.
He handed the rig to me.

Did I drool? Did I say, "Oh, I have got to get one of these."?
No, I said to myself, this is just way too heavy. Well, if it's your job, I can understand
carrying around the best equipment you can afford.
For my hobby status, the 1.5 form factor Nikon 5000 (now a few years old) is just right.
Sure, the 9 cm2 sensor and larger glass would produce better photos.
But at 4 cm2, the sensor and lens size on the 5000 does just fine.
Some of those lenses must weight over 10 pounds without the camera.
