One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Which Kite's for Me?

That is like asking someone else which shirt you should wear today.

If I knew what I know now when I was first searching for a new kite, I would say "The Kite for Me" is the Sea Devil Light.

Remember it is not where your going, it is how you get there that counts. Welcome to the stunt kite journey, and have fun along the way.

So many good suggestions... Widow Maker, Sea Devil, Exile. All three can trick & fly precision pretty well. Also, the standard versions can be flown easily down to ~3mph and can take up to ~15mph. Very versitile, and that's what you need with constantly changing inland wind. That being said...
The Zephyr will do just fine in the same wind range for a little less $$$. It is pretty durable, and can be coaxed into flying lower than 3mph on short lines, no weight, and without the upper spreader. It's just that it's tough to get it to trick in less than 3mph of wind. I flew a Zephyr and Hypnotist frequently for over a year, kept them both in the Zephyr case in my car at all times, pulled them out whenever I got some time to fly.
The best thing you can do is try to get together with other people and fly thier kites. Liberty State park in Jersey isn't too far from NE PA.  The last time I went over there, I flew a kite that was on my wish list, and after flying it, was glad I didn't buy one to try it. Wildwood at the end of May is also worth the ~4 hours of driving, especially if you make it a multi-day adventure.
Good luck !

CV, I like your statement "Remember it is not where your going, it is how you get there that counts." So very true about all things in life. I'm excited about the journey to see which kite works out best for me!

RobB...I will have to find directions to this Liberty State Park and see if I can make it there some time...also thanks for the suggestion of Wildwood in May. I think that would make an awesome family trip!

Thanks for telling me about the zephyr for sale, Jocko. I will have to check it out! Smiley
