I've been thinking for a while about doing some nighttime multiple kite flying. I had seen some lights on youtube etc but could not get and details. Thanks to misterbleepy for the info posted in the topic 'DS in the Dark'
http://www.gwtwforum.com/index.php?topic=7141.msg63192#msg63192 IW LEDS connected to a 3.7V lipo 500mA battery I had lying around through a 2.2ohm resister feed to each led. Current to each led is approx 350mA but no overheating issues. Light is very strong for the first half hour of so (initial lipo voltage was 4.2volts). After an hour and a half there still plenty of light and lipo voltage has dropped to 3.5volts. Going to try using a 3.3v regulator or maybe switchable resistor bank to give various light settings.
Here's a clip that was taken at a balloon festival I was invited to in Trim, Co Meath, Ireland. I was glad I found this as I or none of my other companions thought of getting out a camera.
