One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

I was out the other day flying and got
My first flap jack very cool. wich was
on my Nirvana sul.
The winds picked up so I got out my Zephyer
I did a pop up into a fade to a
Backspin it was only about 3 ft. off the
ground. It happened so quick, not really
sure what happened. But it looked really cool.
 I kept trying the backspin farther up
the in the window. But every time I tried it
 my Zephyer would do a barrel roll. Am I

try more slack with the initiating hand between rotational inputs, and make sure the off hand is all slack. if tension exists while the kite is rotating it will spin around the nose rather than some point behind it, converting your backspin, into a barrel roll. tension in you off hand slows down or stops the rotation.

 On a somewhat related question, does either kite have any weight on it?

I don't use weights on my sul,
But sometimes I do on my Zephyer.
But not very often. If I do I made up
some tail weights like you showed me
last summer at the festival. I hardly

Backspins is a little tricky with the Zeph..she loves more of the roll ups and flat rotational tricks..i can do only 3-5 backspins with my Zeph. on the other side, my SFPro 2.3 is a backspin machine

As for initiating it, giving more slack with the off-hand and even walk downwind help here..also the Zeph needs a little more tug to backspin as a soft one will lat-roll it...the weight will make it harder to backspin from what i tried..

Flapjacks has always been tough for me and even forgot about this till now i read your post lol..
i found it risky for the kites to trick them down so low.but i can do lazies a little bit higher off the ground

I try flap jacks almost every time I go
out, I just happened to land my first one
The other day. I think my prob. with them
is I have a hard time popping my kite high
enough off the ground to get the lazy.
It was very cool when I got it though.
