One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I had some good results and suggestions the last time I posted a color scheme poll, so I figure I'd try again.  Keep in mind that these are colors I have currently in my possession (some in limited quantities).  Also take a look at my poll for the 6th Sense I'll also be building.  Thanks for the input!  I really enjoy this collaborative process of building (and the right to ultimately choose whatever color layout I like best!).

I notice that the darker green is not high on the list of colors people enjoy (at least here on the forum).  green is hard to pair with other colors (like purple) without immediately drawing connection to comic book characters such as The Joker from Batman or The Hulk. Green and orange instantly screams "Halloween" and green with yellow is so collegiate (Michigan state and my Alma mater, George Mason).

Thanks John for your suggestions.  I like that you take the time to play with the blank template.

How about a blank panel with each seam pinstriped the way that r-sky does it on the nirvana on the lower seams.   I noticed that the collector series Ns have more pin-striping.    I think with a geometrically complex design like this, it would really pop.

I'd love to see some darker, "forest green" kites out there. You're right, they don't seem to be very popular, but that shouldn't stop you. Perhaps you will be a trend setter! No matter which color you choose, however, may I suggest you take advantage of some of the shapes you can achieve by using uniform colors throughout the center sections?

Something like these...

I think your layout really shines when using a more linear design across the panels rather than focusing on just the diamond shapes in the very center. It gives it a sleeker look, in my opinion.  Smiley

Thank you for some of those suggestions.  I think it likely that I will be utilizing aspects of one or two for my build.  I really am leaning towards a green color scheme (with shades of grey, black and white).  I agree that the better layouts use some broader shapes rather than the individual panels (which I like about this design, as there are a multitude of options!).

 Cheesy dissension in the ranks!

Steve, I might cross to the dark side (dark green that is).  I've got a few yards of green PC31 that is longing to be used!
