Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I only know he had a tough life and made really odd looking kites.

Anyone got any info on him..... stories, meetings, folklore.

I'm open.

Loved Gary's kites. He made progressive 3- stacks that were way cool also.
Talked to him on the phone a few times.  We sold his kite back in the day.

Folklore/rumor: I heard once he would just show up at a local shop now and then with a couple kites to sell, sounded like no real business, just a hobby tbat he sold a few to support.

I wouldn't call his kites "Odd looking" -  over the top -  yes, unique, yes. But there's a niche for that -  how many do you own now John?   Wink

The White Bird dragons I've bought and have listed came from a large collection from him that went to auction and, apparently, contained a number of his kites as well as from other makers. The buyer said they went fast and people were jazzed to get their hands on them...
Could be words blowin' in the breeze or who knows...
He has a large number of fairly recent pics up on flickr...
