Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hi,

Today I got frustrated. No wind and only rain.
But I wanted to at least have a couple of pictures of a "high tech" kite (my Soul) at a really ancient place.
This is the farm house that has belonged to my wife's family for at least 700 years!
(no, it's not a mistake, I didn't put an extra zero there)

It is in a region of Spain called Catalonia, more specifically in an area called the Low Emporda http://g.co/maps/mq4gr (similar landscape to the Italian Tuscany).

Nice contrast, right?

Cheers,

N.

What a beautiful beautiful place!! People in America (like me) can't fathom a home that old.... let alone remaining in a single family, except maybe in fairy tales. Wonderful.

What kind of crop is that growing-- some kind of grain?

Nancy
P.S. The kite is awesome too!!

Indeed! This is just a small farmhouse but America was not discovered until 150 years after the earliest document that my wife's mother has found of register of property!

The crop is wheat and it is now at its best. Because of Mediterranean climate rainy season will be finishing soon and then everything will lose the bright greenness to turn into golden shades.

Cheers,

N.

P.S. Yes the kite is great, however the pilot still needs a lot of tuning...  Roll Eyes

Yes, yes... I know... I know...   Roll Eyes

The thing was that since there was no wind and I wanted those pictures I really had to pull back and out for the kite to rise straight up.
Even then, you can see on the first picture how slacked the lines are.
Also on the second picture, you can see how it turtled without me doing anything in particular (although the picture came out nice...!)
 Wink

Cheers,

N.
