Got out to the lake over the weekend. Smiley
The lake was a sloppy mess so most of my collection stayed in the bag.  :'(

Somehow I always end up going back to this same kite...such a solid performer.

I need more of Lam's kites!!!

JL's on the Sea Devil remain sublime...and it remains one of the best kites of all time IMveryHO.

Anyone that has flown one has loved it.  And they crack their wings during snap turns like few kites out there.  Yeah, the turtle is not deep unless you make sure to throw it back.  But to me, this is more natural in feel than these kites that just drop into a deep turtle almost without input at all.

I learned everything I still can do well on a Sea Devil light.

This video is very nice.

Haha thnx Tom!

I should really try entering the next virtual freestyle!
Seems like a lot of fun!

I am on a mission to get a few more devils, fearless and trans.
I like how well balanced the Sea devil is.

You should definitely get involved - its alot of fun and there are several amazing kites begin given away this round.

You should def try the Trans if you love the SD - very tricky, but without the 'locked in' turtle like the Fearless.  Trans is much more similar to SD than FL in my opinion.

Yah it's def a fade monster:) I def owe u...

The lake usually still has ice in it just before the may long weekend.
The first 100 yards or so off the edge is extremely shallow making it quite warm if the sun it out, great for kite boarding. It's really more of a prairie pothole than a lake haha.
The only thing I don't like is past few years the beach has been really nasty...silty mud.
Lots of rain ....if the lake goes up a few inches half the beach disappears:(

Your video hid that - it looked like a great place to fly.   The wind seems so smooth!

Eh - I need to head to the beach soon!  Smiley

Best wind that i have flown in!
I did notice the SD did not like the water....i guess the material it is made of absorbs it.

If its not icarex it would be nylon right?

SD is a SD
Very nice kite. Very stable.
I have nylon and Icarex version of SD std.
I read that nylon aposorb more water.
Nylon version is about 15gr heavier.
Icarex version more crispy in the air.
Nylon version has little more mass which help little bit more in rotatition but general there are 100 % same just Icarex is ligher.
Fade very stabile .
Nylon is not "in" but Icarex is "in" in kite world material.
All best kites are made with Icarex.
BUT my nylon SD is very good. It is soft material and pretty strong.
A lot of flyer talk that nylon is very good too just little bit heavier.
Why SD kite?
It help me to cut trick for more time to think doing tricks, to make correction.
Very stabile and good balance. Fade forever...
Wondering does anyone knows does Trans. has so stabile fade as SD?
Thx

Yah i noticed it became very water logged..the nylon stretched making the sail look really loose.
Once it dried it did shrink back to its original shape.

Im sure nylon and icarex have many differences but one thing i like about the
nylon is that its silky smooth in the sky...nice and quite

WOW !!  Nice flying Adam I really paid attention to your fades... I keep trying to hold the fade and control it longer.  Damn nice flying... The water scene brings back memories of past summer.. going in after the kite.  I hope I can achive some of what you do this summer season.
