One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

Kites with the tow point set low and close to the spine tend to have this dead spot.  I've been tinkering with bridle settings a lot and the heavier you set he bridle the more finicky the flare to fade gets.  It doesn't seem to be a design flaw in the sail specs but more of what angle the bridle leg to the US is at when you pull.  There is a point when the uphaul is too flat against the sail to transfer the pull at the right angle to get it to flip nicely.  Ron is right if  you over flare a bit pop both lines to kick the tail up some then pull for the flare making a 3 input fade pull.  Best is to control the line tension through the flare so you can stop the nose before it over flares. Before you change bridles experiment with  nose position in the flare and find out what the kite likes.  IMO that kite liked a nose low flare in the flic flacs.  My Solus is the same way it has to be perfectly flat or nose low for easy flic flacs.
