One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Empty places in the sky seem to be on the rise in the past couple of months.

Rest in peace, André.

Andre had an article written about him in the latest Kite & Friends magazine.   (you will need to translate it from german)

Google Chrome translated:
The Berlin Andre Eibel was an outstanding stunt kite fliers and -Bauer the first hour. He was enthusiastic in the 80-years of stunt kites and had thanks to his training as a sailmaker was already the opportunity to build his own kites. Incidentally flew and he collected abroad over the years all kinds of special stunt kite, which fell out of the frame. He was always looking for it the unique and innovative, whether mat, rod-quad line, two line stunt kite rod or special kites. The really crazy was something, the more it interested Andre.

Over the years, Andre developed a passion for Speedkites, but also specifically for lightweight construction of stunt kites. Andre dealt with it very systematically and managed, for example, a 2.60-meter kite - his Wraith - to reduce to exactly 47.3 grams. This was a world record! Unfortunately, the Guinness Book of Records refused an entry.
Andre was an enthusiastic and successful Speedkite contest flier and had not missed a race or a Speedkite event since the third German Contest of 2010. During an official fairs he managed with the Cutlass to venture into the more than 200-kilometers per hour-League, which had officially until then managed only one other pilot in front of him. Later he also won an innovation prize, which was awarded by at a contest.
Andre founded about two years ago the company offered AEtherKites and there his extraordinary dragon that (an exceptionally lightweight laminate sails with Dyneema monofilaments) and quality linkages were mostly built from a special material mix with cubes. He was a "building material fetishist" and always looking for new and extraordinary material. Whether extremely stretched Speedkite as Scalpel, Rapier, Dagger (yes, Andre loved his Speedkites to give the name of cutting and stabbing weapons!), Or even anti-Speedkites (as Wraith, Spectre, Colibri, Seagull): were always his designs exceptionally innovative. To this day, I no replicas of its developments are known, which will mean a lot in the scene. His special scale constructions astonished again and again. One of his last great Kites was about 6.80 meters span having Colibri XL. An XXXL version with over 13 m span was also planned.
Speed competence
to Speedkite contests he took over again with new and unusual models and was there always, also because of its friendly and open character, one of the highlights, as well as a good place for those interested. He always answered all questions with great patience, extraordinary competence and in great detail. Just in he had given the Dagger, an entry-Speedkite, to test to the editors of KITE & friends.
A gap has emerged
Andre was in every respect an extraordinary person and a very special type. Anyone who has ever met him, remembers him and the outer not only because of his appearance. Unfortunately, Andre died in early July 2015 at a surprisingly natural cause of death, and many dragons and friends mourn him as a man with his innovations and his passion for kite. Fly with the angels around the bet, Andre, and show them what 'ne rake is!

Thanks for that, Rob. Although I've never met him on a kiting field, Andre and I were in regular contact about his kites. He was slowly, but surely working on me to order a pair of Colibris for pair-flying. That would have been awesome, but it will never happen. I will miss his FB messages.
