One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I must confess - I will occasionally shower a kite or 2. 

However, it's only after coming home from a wet and muddy field (or that silt-like black sand that we can get on the beach here in the PNW during winter) where the kites clearly need it.  I just use water, but I do it while the kites are still wet - it comes right off.  If you allow the mud to dry, well, thats a whole different story I imagine.

any soap made for sails will work,and you can buy it in the states. I use a little dishsoap or simple green on my sails and kites I have not ruined a $3000 spinaker yet. same material as a kite, just a whole lot bigger and very hard to shower with

So you think I can just slap some of that stuff on my hair (ha ha) and under my arms and just clean both my kite and myself up at the same time? Is it approved for humans?

I now like Tech Wash by Nuwax. Its made to clean nylon and material with waterproof coatings. I fill up the bathtub and wash all the kites. Sometimes I rinse them sometimes I dont. Great stuff.

actually lemon joy is the BEST shampoo, soap for saltwater bathing  If you use simple green just make sure it is diluted. no reason to use it full strength
