Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Today, strong gusty winds but had a short nice fly.
Cheers,

That Soul looks great! How does she fly? I'm thinking about getting a std, and I'm considering a Silver Fox or a Soul (among the many other options out there).

Hi Red sweater, sorry 'bout the delay in answering. I've been swamped with work lately...

About how it flies I'm quite happy although I'm really a newbie. Also I haven't flown the SF so I cannot compare.
However, everyone I've heard of having a Soul says to enjoy it a lot.
So I guess it is a good kite.

I'm still struggling with countering the pull in mid/strong wind. In low wind (low within its range) it flies smoothly and nicely. I can do well half-axels, axels, fades and unnamed tricks such as winding both lines on one wing tip and making it float out of control to the ground...  Wink

Cheers,

N.

Thanks.

I ended up buying a used Nirvana (FE) from the swap meet (couldn't pass it up at that price!), but I'll keep that in mind. As my sig shows, my UL is a SF, so I was thinking of getting a similar kite for my std, but that ship has sailed for now.

Maybe eventually I won't be talking about "my one UL and my one std" and instead be talking about "one of my many kites"...but I've already spent a good bit of money for the moment! Smiley

Yeah I totally understand.
Same here, I now talk about my std Soul and my Talon UL and my starter compact Nexus.
I guess "when I grow up" (hopefully in age and not sideways... upwards is completely out of the question by now) I will also talk about "one of my many kites"  Smiley
But currently, like you, I have invested enough for the family to look at me with a strange face  Huh when I say: "gee that's a nice-looking kite!"  Tongue

Cheers & good flying with the Nirv!

HAHA I say that and my wallet screams NNOOOOO!!!!!!!!  I've spent my new kite budget for the next year or so already.  I planned on 2 and ended up with 16 lol (2, 6 stacks, 3 dualies and a couple SLKs).  I did sell 6 kites along the way to help pay for the new additions though Tongue
