One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

OK Rhonda has been following all this but doesn't want to post it.

NBC ran a nice clip on the Lincoln City Kite Festival and David Gomberg on the Rock Center show with Brian Williams. It got interupted in many areas with the Olympics though. Did you catch it? If not you can watch the clip here

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/48007076#48007076

you'll have to struggle through a 30 second advertisment first though, the link is right, just grin & bear it   Cheesy

two days of filming for 2 minutes of video they cut my kites out of the final version

Here's a behind the scenes how they got the air born shots

I sat next to Dustin, the director/narrator, at dinner Saturday night. Really nice guy, and he was amazed at all the kites and what could be done with them

I think the Supreme Court decision cost us a few minutes airtime on the final cut. They interviewed a lot of people, and frankly, I was surprised to be the focus.

But three minutes on network programming is always good.

Hope it helps spread the word about what everyone is doing.

Sorry David,

I think the little girl upstaged you big-time, but nice job on your part anyway

Show that clip to all of your friends who don't understand why you like kite festivals.

Great Video, had an excellent camera man. Not national network tv but I guess you just took it international

Great segment. TV isn't the same anymore. No more magazine style segments, just headlines. I still support public broadcasting. They still produce great stuff.
