One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Dano was in town, down from Reno. With him, was his recently

acquired Mojo UL in pink and rainbow ( truly, a zippy8 nightmare ).

We briefly flew the Mojo in buffeting winds which sometimes gusted to 10 mph.

When that happened, we would bring the kite to the edge of the window

and wait for calmer times. The kite was a trooper. Average wind speed was

near 5 mph so we were definitely past the prime wind speed for the kite.

I was able to get consistent fades in the buffeting winds and the kite would ride

the wind like a bobbing boat in choppy water. I'm sure the broadseaming of the

sail allowed the Mojo to stay in the fade.

Later, I did the slowest, flattest 540 ever. The wind probably aided in achieving

the slow time as the kite would slow down and speed up its rotation. Total time

was around 3 seconds. It was hard to believe this delicate kite could do such a beautiful

trick in that wind. Dano and I were shocked. We then hurried and put the kite away.

The storm was getting closer and a few raindrops had already warned of impending

wetness and electricity, which was happening a few miles to the North.  Smiley

I've said it before, "The Mojo is the best flying sport kite ever made."

I was going to say something about Dano's choice of colors but he threatened to hit me with his purse... so I won't.

It would really need two more lines to truly give me the heebie-jeebies. But kudos for giving it a good go.

Did not care for the kite colors when I saw pictures on the swap meet. But it is a real stunner in person.

I got to the park after John was showing off his flying prowless.  Wink

The wind was higher than I would have flowned my Mojo UL so I am sad to have missed the show.  Embarrassed
John's does a great 540 and once pulled off a Taz on my Amazing SUL.

John was finishing his flying when I arrived. Dano then packed up the Mojo as I setup my mongoose for the stronger winds. Sorry we could not get all our Mojos in the air at the same time.  Sad
