this one has more framing than the pterodactyl so i would put the higher end of the range around 5-6 for active flying....you could stack these as wild children on a branching line for even higher winds (karl and sara do a branching line for the small pterodactyls in 10mph and they are zipping all over the place)...

neat things....the spine only comes down about 2/3rds of the kite...and so the bottom ends of the wing rods cross over each other and push out the bottom points...so..with the spine not there with tension a valley is formed between these two rod ends...and that gets the kite to track on a rail!

very floaty....i am going to add a small swivel to the pigtail on mine....all forward movement is great....
it was flying comfortably in no winds and handled the 2-3mph gusts i was getting too.....

it is an active single line.....like the pterodactyl, but with better flight (where as the pterodactyls have more personality!)
