Once again, the famous GWTW calendar will be done as a group effort.
The calendar is NON-profit to anyone. All proceeds will go toward paying the Forum maintenance fees for GWTW.
Any member of the Forum or regular reader of Eolemag (they let us enter their contests) is free to enter up to 6 photos for inclusion on the ballot.
Photos submitted must be at least 1200x1600 pixels without blowing them up in a processing program.
Kites must be the dominant theme of each photo.
Submittals are now open and will remain open until October 1.
If you want to make sure your photo is shown correctly, send me thumbnails at 220 pixels wide x 170 pixels tall. I don't need the full size photo unless your picture is selected.
Email your photos to me directly (chilesej(at)cox(dot)net. (replace (item) with appropriate symbol)
Print size of photos will be 1800x2300 pixels full bleed with the center 1700x2200 pixels showing. So if you want to crop, that is the criteria.
Photos must have been taken during the last year or so (not hard and fast, but lets be current people)
A ballot will be made for voting.
Each photographer and/or purchaser of one or more calendars gets to vote.
Your vote will count 1 time if you entered photos and once for each calendar you promise to buy. You will get to vote for up to 12 photos. Bambi may allow me to use one of her pictures.
If you don't buy a calendar or submit photos, you don't get to vote.
If your picture is chosen, you will have your name and photo info on the picture. You will receive nothing beyond that. Nor will I for that matter.
More rules may be added, modified, deleted, whatever for any reason.
The Forum, in general, likes sport kites, water and sunsets.
Calendars will cost $5 more than Cafepress charges. In the past that has been about $20 + tax + shipping
Many Forum regulars have had photos on these calendars: Bob Matteo, Dave Sabilino, Frazer Worley, Randy Greenway, etc. There have been dozens of excellent shots contributed.
Good luck. I hope to see lots of beautiful shots.
Here was the 2010 calendar:
