Never flown the Jewel, but it is a very small kite, under 6 ft.
Small kites tend to need more wind, are less controlable and easy to out grow.
+1 on buying the largest kite you can afford, new or used. In kites, size really does matter!
I started on a Go Fly a Kite (are they even around anymore?) Storm (about 53") and moved to an HQ Bebop (57"). The BeBop was a much better kite but still small. A kite club friend gave me a Flying Wings Alpha+, which, as I've written elsewhere, is probably the least expensive kite on the new market that has a wingspan of at least 85 inches. It is by far not the best built "big" kite, but it's available for $68 and it's a much easier kite to fly than the smaller ones. Moving from the Bebop to the Alpha+ changed my flying dramatically.
The Premier Widow is significantly more expensive than the Alpha+ (the Widow lists at $160 but I got mine in a closeout sale for $115) but the Widow will keep you happy for a long time.
If all you can afford right now is a $58 kite, the Jewel is not a bad kite but for $10 more, you can get 20 inches more wingspan in an Alpha+. Those 20 inches will make a big difference in your flying.
