Desire UL- should I have went another direction?

Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

just gonna throw this out there...  I found my good field and noticed that....

   if i hold my arm straight out, with my thumb UP... the trees and buildings are all about the size of my thumb nail!

maybe its stupid, but I can drive around or be somewhere and evaluate the location.  I drove around town for an hour today and couldn't find another good spot..... Somebody decided to have an Apple Festival in MY FIELD!!!  THE AUDACITY!

Sorry to say there is no HOLY Grail.........The best thing to do would be to get a powerful fan and make your wind consistent or just go indoors and learn how to fly in 0 wind.......Low wind flying with the most expensive kite touted to be 'zero' wind is still a learned skill.......and I can vouch that I'm still trying to develop that skill.  Ten years and many more than twenty so- called zero wind acquisitions are my testimony to that.

Well, I would say that depends on what YOU want from your low wind kite. One kite might be the holy grail for one pilot and an abomination for another. And don't forget the difference between just relax and fly or fly and trick or keep the kite in the air and punch out trick after trick, competition precision or ballet routine etc.
