One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Its always good to see kiting in the newspaper but even better when it is in your home area and that is not one of the big kiting areas of the country.  Me and my son and my puffer fish made it into the New York Newsday while at the Kite Festival at the Long Island Maritime Museum last weekend.

Good to see there's someone else still kiting on Long Island. It looks like you guys were the festival, though...  It's too bad that the one event there is has no publicity other than what you posted here, and it seems that the date was changed last minute.
Hopefully getting some coverage in NewsDay will raise some interest ? Maybe if we were represented by an AKA region it might help? Ever since the demise of the Riis Park festival after 2009, kiting has been dead here. It's pretty sad to think of all the inland fliers that would kill for our wind...

Anyway... here's a picture of the same festival 4 years ago...
