If you still have all the photos on your computer you can forget all of this
Just say goodbye to the jerks that caused this mess.
I used the link to download all my albums from Webshots.
http://community.webshots.com/features/downloads Particularly important for our GLKS photos
because other members uploaded their own pictures. Once you have started
the download you get a message that they are working on it. It may take a
couple hours or more, but eventually you will get an email that will provide
links to start your downloads.
I had trouble with this as the links did not work. I had to click on the
view tab in IE9 and then on source. Look for Href= to find a link that
looks like this
http://ws-dload.webshots.com/webshotsImageRetriever/processUserInfo/htm?oauthToken=0bb1d406c9e451ba15e09d482d496850348f841ff6b5304ae0e220a3b95ca5ab501d462a352b371af854087e46e Copy and paste this into your browser
The downloads are rather obscure because no recognizable names are used.
Here is how I have been finding what is what.
First Extract all the files from the downloaded zip file into a new folder.
Second start up Webshots Desktop. Setup file is attached. Click on My
Files Online then log in to your webshots albums. A list of all your albums
shows up with in this program. The reason for doing this that the number of
photos is displayed for each album. Capture this list with alt-prnscreen or
whatever then print it out if you wish. Page down and repeat until you get
the full list.
Third. Open one of the downloaded folders, perhaps with a name something
like this, Photos_1_of_3_514af. Open one of the album folders within,
perhaps with a name like this, 572173359. Your photos will unfortunately
have names like this, 2014232670103663154yeQGMI_fs.JPG. Not much help. Count
the number of photos in this album. Look for this number of photos in the
Webshots desktop list then click on this album. Compare the photos to those
in 572173359. If you have found the right ones, change the name of the
album from 572173359 to My day at Canal Days or whatever.
Fourth. Delete the album from webshots (you have the album on your computer
now) so that searching will get easier as you go.
The albums seem to be grouped roughly in the same order as they were online but not exactly and that is why I have to repeat the third step over and over. A real pain to say the least.
