The Kevlar does nothing for the stiffness, but it helps with the integrity of the rod in case of breakage or impact with other objects.

I tried the fiberglass standoffs on both .S (SUL) and .U (UL) versions of my Howitzers. In particular i replaced the inner standoff with fiberglass one (10mm longher to let it curve). THe impressions are that the fiberglass standoffs helps to smooth the flight and the pumping of the kite, reducing pitch bounching during pumping. In tricks the standoffs doesn't seem to have detrimental effects exept in 1pop youo on the UL version, which seems to rollup slower (by a partial cancellation of the impulse probably). In the SUL version it smooths up the 2 pop yoyo y and accepts partially uneven inputs. I have to try the .N (STD) version with this modification but i'm afraid that as the lower spreader gets stiffer, the standoff curves more and damping of the rollup impulse will be stronger....

Maybe I will change the standoffs depending on the context

But isnt it normally so, that when the inner sailarea gets larger, then flater the turtle is kareloh?  This is what i saw when i take out the inner sto. So i expect a flater turtle when i use a fibre sto as inner because it bends more making the sailarea bigger and flater?
