Welcome to the GWTW Forum.

One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Mike, Rhonda and I were playing with kite poppers the other day.  Thought I'd share the video that Mike took.
I must have sent those poppers up at least 50 times.  Think Rhonda did about the same.

He's not as skinny as he was.  Needs to rededicate to losing another 35 or so.

The damn things are quite addictive.  Dangerous, but addictive.  Shortly before this was shot I got hit in the chest with the incoming ... hence the getting hit in the head comment.  I eventually let out more line.  With poppers the higher the better.  Needless to say kids love them.

Was really surprising how well they climbed even in the light winds we had that day. I would've bet against it, I would've lost. They aren't light and don't have a lot of sail area but they went right up the line even as the kite was losing altitude. Also climbed better when the line was more vertical rather then horizontal, another bet I would've lost.

Drew a bit of a crowd too.

Steve got better with practice, rather then opening from the top & releasing he found it better to open all three then walk them down the line a bit and release them one at a time while letting the line rise by walking back towards the anchor to bring them into the breeze quicker.

Better hurry and order them before Rhonda decides she needs them  Wink  He has a few of the Premier ones in stock right now.
