I wonder how many top quality kite makers have been put out of business by these cheap Chinese imports ?

If this stuff is being made in San Jose, my bad. But I'm thinking it comes from a factory in China.

Yes... top quality kite makers have their kites made in China. Why would this put them out of business. Don't understand your point.

I understood that a lot of Prism's kites were made in China, as are some of HQ's, New Tech and many other mid range models and they seem to be OK. The FW Soul is made in Taiwan and is as well made as many top end kites.  Made in China doesn't automatically mean bad, as long as they are not trying to rip off blatant copies of other peoples designs.

The FW Bag looks good, if the price is right.

In any case, and going back to the original topic, I like the bag but I think I prefer those that allow you to open them from top to bottom and exhibit what is inside.
I am currently looking for a kite bag since I now have three kites but I find most are too large and the prices (in my local store) are not that good.

I saw the IntoTheWind ITW 48". It is nice but has only one single compartment inside. It is very long. And my local price was 48 !!! (at the ITW site it is offered for $33!!!!)
I also saw the Vector - Deluxe Padded Kite Bag. Really nice and really good local price 43!!! BUT too large! It is 168cm and this wont fit in my car trunk. I will have to fold a seat to get it in but then I cannot leave it visible to avoid robbery. Plus it is REALLY heavy already when empty!
The HQ simple bag which is a little cheaper in my local store but it is too simple...

I think the Prism roll up bag is really nice but quite pricey... (don't know locally but in the Internet is $139...)

I will also look at the fishing bags as someone in this forum suggested...

Cheers,

N.

I see a market for this type of bag. It's almost like a big sleeve for several kites. There are a lot of people that want to take 4 or 5 kites out flying. This would be a light weight and easy way to carry everything you'd need.

Perhaps the ultimate in lightweight 'kite bags' from Level one?

Designed to hold 2-3 kites together for a quick evening fly.  I made my own version of a speed bag style roll up bag which I tend to use more than my main kite bag.

For cheap kitebags look at fishing rod bags! Wink

I traveled with a few kites once before I had a bag. I used two bungee cords to hold a few sleeves/(individual)bags together, one of which had a handle in the middle, and I was all set!
