One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

It's a bad month for kite-shop related fires... didn't I read on another forum that The Highwaymen also suffered a fire?

Holy Crap?Huh Huh Huh Shocked Shocked Cry Cry

That's Dave Colbert's 2nd shop! I loved that shop.  Dave and his family are really nice folks and always more than happy to help with anything you might need...not to mention a 100% no questions guarantee on anything he sold you.

Good thing he has another, larger shop just down the road in Oregon.  Looks like he'll be able to get into another space and be able to at least partly stock it pretty quickly and keep the local visitors and fliers happy.  Not that the fire isn't bad enough but it had to happen right as the season was truly getting under way.

Best wishes to he and his family.

I fully appreciate the ability of trees to attract kites. They have special powers that way.

Hello,
I followed the story in a local near by news paper, and I also saw a bunch of pictures.  It is my understanding that there was a lot of undamaged inventory in a near by warehouse, and that they had found another location to open a kite shop in and they were busy getting that new location ready to open ASAP.

that's too bad, it was the best kite shop in Long Beach the last few years
I hope Dave & his crew bounce back and have great success
