Edit:  Tip #1 Yards of slack. If Simon completes this trick as it is in the video, he will understand SLACK when he is done.
Edit:  Tip #2 You need to snap your lines and then start running forward to create enough slack for the kite to rotate under two times. As soon as the kites nose is pointing back towards you.....Back up fast to unroll. You may step on your lines and need to start over.

That's the attitude I like to see. I was pretty sure you were going to accept the challenge. If all three of you can do it all the better. I kid you not: As soon as you snap your lines start running forward while keeping your eye on the kite. Once you see it is about ready for the nose to point back towards you start back peddling fast. This trick requires YARDS of slack. The Talon UL is a great kite to do this trick with.......thanks, Mark C.

Hey Norm. How do we know that what you have posted wasnt just a one off happy accident lol. Can you post a vid showing two cycles of the trick just so I know this wasnt a one off. Nothing personal.

Too late Steve oh buddy...I was wondering why it wasn't allowing me to quote you. You are absolutely correct, but it didn't happen by accident. I know I shouldn't ask someone else to do a trick that I can't do. I recently (last week) did a rotation of three, so I know you guys can do two. I will do this again at the Morro Bay kite festival and post MY video as well. Next time don't delete your post  Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy as I love razzing also. I dish it out and can take plenty.  Cheesy  Cheesy

I knew you were slowly dying inside to get your hands on a pair of the World's second best flight straps.  Grin  Wink Good luck with the challenge. Don't forget to RUN after you start the nose under.

Hi Norm.

I would also like to see another video, but not for the reasons exposed before, but because this one is so shaky.
The vibration makes me unsure of how the trick goes.
Could we have one with a stable camera please?
Thanks!

Ara

I know the video is very shaky and a little difficult to figure out. It is nothing more than a AVFFF rolled up twice. I did 3 rotations of the Double AVFFF last week at the beach, but did not get it on video taped. Yep, I know if it isn't on video it didn't happen. So, I will video tape another one myself the last week-end in April during the Morro Bay Kite Festival. In the meantime I offered this trick as a challenge to Simon and his friends, because they are dying to get their hands on a pair of my custom flight straps. Simon also posted a video to help with the AVFFF "trick challenge" that was good stuff.
Shaky video: I have the recorder mounted on the bill of a baseball cap because of beach walkers and surfers constantly in the way. I can't leave my video recorder unattended. I also need to be down on the wet/compact sand in order to get enough traction to run to create enough slack to get the Talon UL to roll under twice. I'm an old guy with a rather large size beer tank. I need all the advantage I can get. In my next "trick challenge" you will see a much better video and it was also recorded from the bill of my baseball cap after I got it "set" proper. Previously I recorded the 3 rotations of the Double AVFFF, but the recorder wasn't tilted "set" proper, so all I got was blue sky. I have since correct all of my stupid mistakes.

So I should not go for this challenge? What if I get it right? I don't get a much wanted set of your straps?

On the other hand, as far as I can see, whereas the AVFFF "Trick Challenge" started out from a fade position, this Double AVFFF starts from a dive down and into a pancake that rolls the kite twice.
Is that correct?
If so, then it is not really an "AVFFF rolled up twice" because the entry to the trick is different...   :-?
Am I being too picky?
Cheers.

I didn't think you were going to participate in the challenges. Yes, you're entirely welcome to go for this trick. I'll need to see 2 rotations. Yes, you are to picky. Cheesy  Cheesy , but that's ok. It looks like you may learn faster by asking good questions.  Grin Start from Fade and go from that point. Yes, it is a Double AVFFF. Let's not do the "Denny thing" on me.  Wink  Wink  Cheesy
