Hey Gang,
So I had about a 30 minutes conversation with a Mr. Steve Vess yesterday. He flies Revs, has a bought a few of them from me over the past few weeks, dabbles in this and that, etc. We discussed various kite related topics, old school kites, etc. So he tells me he's going to be in my area in April and that he was going to stop in and say hello. I said that would be great. THEN, out of nowhere, he says something to me that just sent a chill up my spine.... He says, and I quote "Don't you have a FESTIVAL in March or something?". I pause for a moment, shocked, and respond something to the effect of "whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA!!....don't you EVER, EVER, EEEVVER........use the "F" word when talking about my event again!". Obviously surprised, he replies "what did I say?". I said, "You called it a FESTIVAL. We do NOT use that word, EVER! It's a PARTY!!!!!
He chuckles, and laughingly says "oh, sorry". So I give him a brief little explanation, talk about it's magical powers, etc. So he asks me the date, and I tell him. THEN, he says something else that absolutely FLOORED me, and about stopped my heart....you better sit down for this one gang. He says, and I quote "Oh, I think I'm going to be in HAWAII that weekend". OMG, I about had a flippin baby! I exploded, I could NOT stop laughing. I said "OMG, you have GOT to go the GWTW Forum, find the KITE PARTY thread, and tell that story!! Just wait til' you read the responses. I gave him a brief summary of Mark's story, but he's a newbie to the forum, in fact he didn't even know about it (poor guy) as there are very few kite people where he lives. So I told him I would do it for him. So here I am.
So, gang, I am asking you to PLEASE help save this poor man from certain doom, and address Mr. Vess's plans to miss Kite Party for a trip to Hawaii! Feel free to mention any other examples of KP Karma that apply!! Thank you, a man's LIFE may be at stake here!!!
