Folks, as Jim recently mentioned in another thread, there's a new festival in our region coming up soon on June 13th. Wanted to pass this along to you. See below for details and contact info. This is being coordinated by Sky Jewels Kites and is not specifically a WOW-event, but it's another great opportunity to fly in our area! It should be on the AKA calendar shortly and I'll put it on our calendar, as well.

On June 13th, the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority will be holding their first annual kite festival at the Occoquan Regional Park in Lorton, VA. The event will run from 10am to 3pm on Saturday. The park has set aside a large area for the kite flyers, along with dedicated parking, and a dedicated area for spectators to fly their kites. The flying fields are situated such that our kites should be visible from both Northbound and Southbound I-95, US Rt1, and the town of Occoquan so the opportunity to showcase our kites and club are potentially huge!
The Park Management is very excited about this event and wants to do everything they can to make it a success.
