Mitch Kiel and I had a little fun flying in the warm sun on the iced over lake today.

Mitch just picked up a couple of delta conynes and some transition tails that went for a spin along with some Tibetan prayer flags I was given by a local monk.

The 'Zilla (thanks Steve) was lookin' for a little more wind...
The wind was starting to get settle down when we got there, it had been in the low teens earlier in the day  Tongue

By the way, that's an old Sun Oaks 12ft.er haulin' the goods.

Another nice afternoon and I managed to get over to the lake...
Training the dragons has worked out very well, spaced about 17 ft. apart. The little parafoil is always a quick grab, rolled up and ready to go. It's a 4 cell piece from the U.K. with a Gomberg tail.

Sunset was delightful  Cool

More to come as the winter winds blow...

Doin' a test fly of a recently acquired Premier 11ft. delta. 20ft. tube, 15ft. streamers...
Off she goes...

Hard to beat a walk on the lake in the late afternoon sun with temps in the mid 20's and < 10 mph winds  Wink
We've had a few gentle snowfalls lately and that brought back good footing after earlier rains had stripped off most of the snow cover...

On Lake Hiawatha, Lake Nokomis's little brother, very light breeze and a bunch of fresh snow.

Ooops, need to do a little tuning... Or did it think it would do a little fishin' ?

Much better, the breeze was fading fast and the deep snow cover made for difficult footwork to try any gliding!

Thanks for posting these pictures. I enjoy watching them a lot.

BTW, have you seen the airplane in the far back, just above the tail of the kite where the sunlight is really bright?  Wink

We might be lucky and get a couple more weeks of safe ice for walking, flying... Cool
A little more air time on Lake Hiawatha. Getting a little fresh air today, temps in the 20's wind in the low teens...

Scott Spencer cell, very nice flyer...

The Wala did well in the moderate breeze, interesting kite. I'll have to learn to do some gliding when the winds have gone missing...

Breezy day on Lake Nokomis! Winds in the upper teens with gusts into the twenties with a temp. of 21 degrees...
Brisk, but not bad with wool pants, down jack and back to the wind  Cool

Early Sun Oak conyne...

Old GFAK 9ft. delta...

Fly me to the moon...
