Charly (Kite Classifieds (ad on right)) had an excellent suggestion.

Perhaps when you sell a kite here on the Swap Meet, you could donate

a small percentage to the Forum. It will go to Steve Hall, who could

probably use a bit of help with recent medical costs.

I know many of you already do donate (Allen Carter for one), so thank

the man and the Forum when next you sell a kite.

Properly it would be the seller donating a couple shekels for the use of the Swap Meet. But hey, you know as a buyer you got a heck of deal too. It all goes to help keep "The Forum" and "The Swap Meet" alive & it doesn't take much do that, heck you'd pay more in sales tax on a new kite if bought locally.

Steve will pull through this, and although we've offered to help him with the store and shipping while he's recovering,  right now he's saying this is a real slow time anyway and he's considering closing the store that normally supports "The Forum" for a while.

For some reason his laptop won't connect to the internet at the rehab he's visiting and I couldn't get it on either so we'll be taking him Rhonda's old Compac or my Thinkpad this weekend to get him back online, he's got a lot to catch up on right now.

Do you want us to list our stuff on this thread, or just start a new thread for each item?

Thanks

Normal thread procedure Charly.

Just mention in the thread about a percentage

(5%, 10%, 100% whatever)

going to the Forum (Steve).

Excellent suggestion Charly.

Just getting back from OKR and catching up.

Great reminder for everyone, John!

I believe in this and it's something I always do when I sell a kite. IMO its something everyone should do who uses the swap meet, or even if someone just browses the forum. Just click the Donate button at the bottom of the page.

Ok, back to work now...   Wink

I've been adding the extra for Steve to the money I send to the seller, under the assumption the seller would add that to the amount passed on to the forum. Is this the best way to handle this? Or should I be making the donation directly?

Any way is good.

It's on the honor system around here.

Perhaps communicate with the other person to coordinate donations.  Smiley

I just sent a portion of my kite sold via the link at the bottom of the web pages. It was categorized as a donation so I believe there won't be PP fees involved; not 100% though.
