Several weeks ago, the nose on my Benson Inner Space finally gave in.
Both upper leading edge tips
spreaders had worn through the thin nose material.
I finally got around to breaking down the kite to have a new nose put on.
The ferrule between the upper and lower leading edge had broken free
of the glue and worked its way down until maybe 1/4" was exposed and
providing the connection.
Considering that I am not overly kind to my SULs when doing tricks, the
fact that the kite had not broken some time before the nose wore out is
shocking.
A good stubborn kite that wanted to keep on flying when others would
have given up. Thank you Tim Benson.
Whichever angel is the patron saint of sport kites, my thanks.
