One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Could anyone check the distance between sail and lower spreader on complete kite (whiskers with connectors), I have feeling that with connectors which i used it is a little bit to much?.

I don't have a sixth sense in front of me, but I can tell you that with Jaco sail connectors, the dimensions i used with success (in multiple builds) are exactly what is in the plan... So sail side to end of the stand off = what David has listed in the plans.

I took screw-type sail connectors and APA312 for the LS but i have to add 3mm PVC endcap for it to fit 3mm rod for this APA. this gives plus almost 1cm added to 28,5 and 27,5 rods. I am wondering if this is not too much.

The screw type sail connectors need the stand off rods to be 10mm shorter than plan length.

Thanks, no problem, I am aware that all people are working now

I have two ideas, so if i might ask for two dimensions:

- total whiskers lenght (from sail to lower spreader) because of used different type of sailgrabbers and pvc endcap on the APA side;
- distance form inner whisker to bottom of LS on the central T because I have used "kenny kreutz" central T which is "lower" than "R-sky type"

outerstandoff: sail to spreader: 27,7 cm

after shortening standoffs for 10mm it looks like this:





Now sail to spreader lenght is 29cm for inner and 28cm for outer standoff.

I think i will cut 5mm more because R-sky center T has 15mm distance between rods and this "kenny" has only 5mm.

As my kite has already appeared here (thanks Iwan00 for asking the question) I thought I should share what the LS look like after the changes.
I cut the standoffs 15mm. The outer is about what Krijn posted - about 27,5cm.

LS look safe to fly now...







BTW it is incredible that I got the solution to my problem before I even managed to register to this forum!
Of course I read it quite a lot as a 'guest'
