Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

THats cool.  I got the e-mail from them about that and other stuff since I'm on thier mailing list.  I think its great that they work to promote outdoor activities of all kinds and not just the sports stuff or camping stuff.  I got a trip to the beach or lake weekend suggestion list from them once and kites was under the suggested activities.

Very cool, Steve!

There are many more interesting "factoids" in your blog, but those were some good ones.

My favorite fact...

Kite flying was banned in Japan in 1760 because too many people preferred to fly kites instead of work.

Yeah, I get that...

It's called "Tako Kichi", which is Japanese for "kite crazy."
