Sure. Lam's tip is about setting your body up.

When you make the half axel input take small step with foward with your off-hand leg.
Now, when you give the input for the slot machine your shoulders and feet will be at a 45 degree angle. This is the same angle that the kite will rotate during the slot machine.  

This leads to a beautiful clean rotation. Thanks Lam.  

I had a pretty good slot machine before thanks to the Godfather.    
John never accepted my so-so effort. He push me hard to clean up my first input.  Thanks John
