Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

One huge plus to using Picassa/Google/Google+/Android (now that thief tipped me into how to keep picassaweb) is that by linking your android phone, plus & picassa all together you receive unlimited space for photo storage. You can also setup your phone to automatically upload every photo to a private folder as you take them. Using a time lapse app (yes we have an app for that) I can think of a few security uses for that feature as well as a few nefarious ones  Wink   and you could even conceivably send one phone up on your KAP rig and review the shots taken from another or a computer within a few seconds, no need to wind down.

As far as Google+ goes I would be all over it if there was any activity, Rob is active but very few others or my other friends & family stop in. Facebook is getting too commercial & cluttered just like MySpace went. G Plus is still pretty clean and Google is the best at keeping their moneymaking activities off you pretty well unobtrusive and transparent while providing a useful service. Just bring up their homepage and moneymaker www.google.com, not an advertisement on it.

Ah..
G+  i am not that up on.....by all uploading to Picasa feeds into there and i know some of my friend use it more than anything else....
but....

Damn..it had not even occurred to me about turning the phone into an auto-uploading KAP rig!!!!i like the sound of that!!!!!

One of the other big money makers for Google is Google for business.....all of the government rolled their email systems into gmail last year....and pushes hangouts (the video chats), chats, and google docs usage at work for communicaiton.....I know that the Univeristy of Alaska has their email by google as well as other universities too....big money!!!!

A good friend will be shifting over to the Google X department....he says lots of fun things in there!!!!!

Many ISP's have switched their email service over to Google/Gmail you keep your same email address so the switch is completely transparent unless they notify you. Cheaper then maintaining their own servers and GMails spam filters seem to be 100%, I can't recall a spam getting through to my gmail or my secondary ISP since they switched.

G+ has also  recently started "Communities", already two have been formed dedicated to Kites out of the 50 or so total that I see having been formed so far.

Another interesting feature they've had since the inception is the ability to form a group video chat at any time, now called Hangouts, that has some interesting features available although I've never participated in one so I don't know how smooth they run. I have only 16 people in my circles, just not enough activity there for me to check in more than every couple weeks or less, loved Allen Carters profile pic though.
