Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

I've found 2 ways to make it work well.  Either
1) use short lines
or
2) move the camera far away.

I prefer the first one since it makes it easier to see kite detail, but the second makes it all easier and is more reliable.   The downside is that, if the kite is too far away, its hard to see what is going on.

The second is really tempting...    ...for thieves!
Not advisable in some of our local fly areas...
Fortunately my mobile phone camera has a really wide angle.
That's option number 3.   Wink

hmmmm,, some really good ideas in the last couple posts....

winds have been great the last couple days, but just lost the water heater yesterday so I am hoping to get that done tomorrow or friday. then IT"S ON!  i figure the local plumbing outfit gave us a quote for $1600 for a water heater...

so... if I do my math right... water heater $300+tools and pipe $100....  that leaves the FLAG REV and a B-PRO  or  Everything I want from SKYBURNER!

Dang, I'm for sure a beginner... And, I recently picked an "old school" UL. So, looks like I have to give it go, whatever the challenge may be  Wink

Your Beginner status is now under full review. I must also check to see what brand of flight straps you are currently using.  Wink Your recent kite purchase will likely work just fine for the upcoming "trick challenge".

Even the more experienced fliers may enjoy reading about new fliers learning and may pick up a few pointers.
Plus reading about any flying beats watching it snow:D

Plus as I've said before, the help that more experienced flyers put out there forces them to think about what they are doing. Even though you can do something yourself breaking it down and explaining it will usually improve your own understanding and flying.
