Welcome to the GWTW Forum.
Guests (non-registered users) can view the forum but are unable to post.  If you don't have anything to say then why would you bother to register?
One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.
There are several more benefits to being a registered user, but you'll have to join our little community to find out all the "secrets".

Hate to lose the old files.
I understand Bob, but if they are attached that means that you have them on your computer so I'm placing the responsibility on you to store your files and if they were posted by someone else photos you have the ability to download them and save.  We aren't hosting a photo sharing site here  Wink

@Jim ... actually not sure but I am checking if, as the storage fills, it deletes old files to make way for the new.  I do have the ability to go through and selectively remove attachments (as I just did on the old ones).

My thought on this is that the ability to store you photos on the forum is a bonus.  The only way to really make sure the images stay here is to link to them using the img tags.

John on SmugMug you need to go to the "Share" Button and down to "Get Link"  scroll down that page to the "Direct photo links" and choose a size. Use the Insert Image button just above & paste that url between the tags
