One of the most popular sections of the GWTW Forum has long been the Swap Meet.  A great place to sell old, seldom flown kites or to get great deals on used (gently flown) kites.  Only registered users can see the Swap Meet section, let alone wheel and deal.  1000's (literally) of kites have changed hands thanks to the Swap Meet.

Thats the purple fade stock color combo with white instead of grey.  Nice change that makes the kite pop.

Delta Park, is where most people fly in Portland. It is typical inland flying, shifting winds, directional and speed. In the spring and summer, people are there in the evenings.

The Portland Area Kite Flyers, have a page on Facebook. Most of them fly Revs. It's a good source for upcoming events in the area.

Theresa with the Kiteshoppe, is the local store. She is part of the vendor forums. Most clubs or groups, in the area will go touch base with her, so she knows a lot about what is going on.

spblat,

When did you get that WidowMaker?

I offered this suggestion to Jon and Marieanne in February

as their purple choices were down to 1 color.

It certainly looks like they took your suggestion. I ordered mine 4/18 and was told at the time they weren't in stock but there was a batch being made. Shipped on 4/22.

Thanks. That makes sense as most of the purple options are

currently not available.

Here's the design I'd like to see them do

with a split leg color theme:

Phoenix Widow Maker. Eyeball would be the rub patch.

This is a personal preference. There is no right answer on lenght. Strenght is a litter easier. Look at need 90 to 100#

For lenght I would recommend 100 feet. Shorter lenghts will allow you to get closer to the kite. But you will have a smaller wind window, giving you less space and time wiht ground passes and some tricks.
